CRC Group, an independent wholesale specialty insurance distributor, has appointed Bill Goldstein as the Head of Strategic Partnerships, Capacity and Capital Solutions, to lead its newly created Risk Solutions Division.
Goldstein will manage the firm’s newest initiative to develop proprietary capacity, capital partnerships, and alternative risk vehicles.
He will also lead the new division focused on managing strategic capacity and capital across the organisation, working closely with CRC’s Specialty and Underwriting operations to identify new opportunities.
Goldstein joined CRC Group in 2021, and has since helped expand its underwriting capabilities, strengthen its specialty knowledge, and enhance its market presence.
The establishment of the new unit reflects CRC’s continued investment in proprietary capacity and aligns with its belief that traditional boundaries between distribution, underwriting, and capital are increasingly converging.
As the specialty insurance market evolves, the firm notes a significant opportunity to align these capabilities more closely, creating structures and solutions that enhance market access, expand capacity, and support long-term growth.
According to CRC, the new division will help build its portfolio of sidecars, reciprocal structures, strategic carrier partnerships, and innovative capacity solutions, and provide a centralised approach to coordinating and expanding these capabilities across the organisation.
Dave Obenauer, Chief Executive Officer, CRC Group, commented on the appointment, “Bill has been instrumental in advancing CRC’s position as an industry leader in specialty insurance. His vision, creativity, and deep understanding of the marketplace have helped shape many of our most innovative solutions.
“He will continue to lead the development of the next generation of proprietary capacity and alternative risk solutions, collaborating closely with clients and carrier partners to bring innovative strategies to market.”
Goldstein added, “CRC has consistently sought new ways to create value for clients and trading partners through innovation with capital and capacity.
“I am excited to lead this effort and build on the momentum we have established. By combining innovative structures, strong carrier relationships, and CRC’s market capabilities, we have a tremendous opportunity to deliver differentiated solutions across the insurance marketplace.”
