Lloyd\u2019s global specialist re\/insurer MS Amlin has launched a new sub-syndicate, s1673, to target growth opportunities and provide greater flexibility and capacity for brokers.<\/p>\n

\"ms-amlin-logo-2\"Named after the year the Mitsui enterprise was founded in Tokyo, MS Amlin explained that s1673 is \u201cinextricably linked\u201d to its Lloyd\u2019s Syndicate 2001, supported by the same capital. From a Lloyd\u2019s perspective, all risks written through s1673 will consolidate under its Syndicate 2001.<\/p>\n

s1673 will reportedly support the growth of business written through MS Amlin\u2019s recently formed Portfolio Solutions team, established to capture underwriting opportunities arising from the insurer\u2019s MS&AD global network, as well as from fast-follow relationships and business written under Lloyd\u2019s innovation and transition codes.<\/p>\n

The firm added that the sub-syndicate will also allow it to increase its share and relevance to brokers in existing lines written on MS Amlin\u2019s Syndicate 2001, by writing additional lines.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis ability to take a greater share of risks can be deployed across all classes of business at the discretion of MS Amlin underwriters, giving brokers access to greater capacity to support clients, where risks are aligned with MS Amlin\u2019s underwriting appetite,\u201d MS Amlin said.<\/p>\n

Martin Burke, MS Amlin\u2019s Chief Underwriting Officer, commented, \u201cThis launch reflects our commitment to trade creatively and explore new commercial routes to sustainable, profitable growth in an evolving market.<\/p>\n

\u201cs1673 will help us expand our Portfolio Solutions division, which includes leveraging our parent group\u2019s international network to access new underwriting opportunities and extend our specialty solutions to new clients globally.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sub-syndicate will also serve as a home for enhanced capacity opportunities, enabling underwriters to selectively deploy more capacity to high-quality risks written by MS Amlin\u2019s Syndicate 2001.<\/p>\n
